Chapter 10

It had been over a month since Cane left Avery’s dorm, and he hadn’t heard from her once. He called several times, which she sent to voicemail, and she wouldn't answer any of his texts. Cane wasn’t the type to chase or sweat women and as much as he wanted Avery, he wasn’t going to keep running after her ass. The problem was that he wanted her and couldn't get her out of his head, so he did the only thing he knew to do and threw himself into BCE. There was so much he had to learn about the operation, that he stayed busy 24/7, and Cam was right by his side.

Cane had to learn all the houses, their employees, how much product they moved, and how much money they made. Cam took Cane with him to introduce him to their supplier, so that they would know that Cane had joined the team and could be trusted, and so far, things were good.

The team seemed happy to have Cane as a leader, and they respected him. Most of the crew knew him already because even though Cane never had his hands in the business directly, he was always around and he was Cam’s brother and Big Cali’s son, so the transition was easy but still a lot of work for Cane. He was finally starting to feel like he had a handle on things with the help of Micah and Cam, so life was good. Cane was officially running shit and Cam couldn't be happier. He had his little brother by his side and their empire was growing.

Now if only Cane could get his personal life together, shit would be A-1. Cane had recently fallen into the pattern of sleeping around, trying to fill the void, he was feeling from missing Avery, but none of the women he came across could measure up. They were basically just easy fucks and Cane was getting tired of trying to entertain them. He knew that he wasn’t wifing any of them, but that didn’t stop them from trying.

“Cane, are you sure you don’t want me to stay?” Mena stood at the foot of his bed wearing only her black lace thong, biting down on her index finger, as she stared at Cane seductively. Cane was sitting on the side of his bed smoking a blunt.

“Nah, I’ve gotta be up early. I’ve got shit to do,” Cane lied. He just wanted her to take her ass home. After Chelsey, Avery was the only woman to stay overnight with him and until she was back, no other female would be staying. He didn’t want any of them getting it in their heads that they were anything more than a quick nut.

“I promise I’ll make it worth your while,” Mena said, slowly moving towards Cane before she stopped right in front of him, gently pushing him back. Cane admired her body and it was definitely tight as hell, with her honey colored skin, thick, round ass, and plump, round breasts.
